A community once overshadowed by Vodou and dominated by fear and hatred is now a community working together as a result of the gospel and pastoral training. Evangelism, discipleship and training are UCI's main focus and through their ministry over the years they have been able to lead 29 witch doctors to Christ, plant 17 churches, send out 3 national missionaries and train over 60 pastors.

God triumphs over darkness!
Two wonderful and amazing things have been happening recently.
First of all, many people have prayed for Franck, one of the last witchdoctors in Bohoc. Many seeds were planted over the last 15 years: cement floors were added to both his and his son's house, the gospel was shared with him, he came to evangelistic outreaches and heard good teaching, his grandchildren went to UCI's school and started coming to church with their parents, and mission teams talked to him about Jesus and prayed over his household.
Seeds were planted, but seemed to remain dormant. However, Franck recently gave his life to Christ while praying with Pastor Milord, a theological graduate of UCI's university and pastor of the church plant in the satellite school!
He came to church and asked JeanJean and UCI's staff to burn his house of vodou worship and all its related contents.
Others gathered to see this astonishing sight! One came forward to ask to pray to accept Jesus. A family conflict was reconciled while the vodou house was burning! The power of God's Word, his Truth, was so powerfully seen! Now Franck wants to give UCI land to build a church building. Amazing!
Secondly, and no less amazing, is that the church plant in a remote region called Bas La Rivière has had tremendous revival. It took over a decade to happen, but now Pastor Luckson has 65 people desiring baptisms—most of those are leaving the darkness of vodou and coming into the light of Christ!
